Stay Motivated By Getting Personal About Your Motivation
What works for one person, will more than likely not work for the next.
A psychologist called Beata Souders, explains that motivation is all about wanting something. She refers to Baumeister, who explains that it can be a change in many things. “A change in behavior, thoughts, feelings, self-concept, environment, and relationships”.
If you look at these areas, they mean something to you on a personal level. There is no easy solution that will help everybody.
It would be best if you had a total custom-made option, that would give you the right results.
Put Your Motivation Hat On
That’s why I recommend you put on your “personal hat” when you think about anything to do with motivation.
We all have many different “hats” that we wear every day. There is our family hat, our work hat, friends hat, etc.
If you don’t have “a motivation hat”, you must put time aside to give it serious thought. Otherwise, your motivation is going to go on a hell of a roller coaster ride.
These are the kind of questions that you need to ask yourself.
When you understand the answers to these questions, you will be able to stay motivated every single day.
What do YOU want in the different areas of your life? How can YOU get there? What motivates YOU?
When you understand the answers to these questions. You will be able to stay motivated.
Stay Motivated When Everything Else Is Rubbish
In lockdowns, we had to get inventive when it came to our motivation levels. Some of us have used, and some are still using, this unusual time, to work on our personal development.
Let’s face it… for every bad day, we have 20 good ones.
Many people tell me they “fail” staying motivated when they have one of those days. You know, the ones where everything goes wrong. We’ve all had those days.
But why let a rubbish day put you off your motivational aspirations?
Start thinking about yourself as a motivational warrior. Whatever happens, you will keep going and going, no matter what.
It’s all about putting everything into perspective. Stay focused and charge on as a warrior, towards whatever you want. It’s not difficult to get your head around, and you have to keep going till you get there.
Always Embrace Multiple Options
When we work towards a goal and keep our motivation levels up, other opportunities might spring up and surprise us.
A motivational warrior is cool. But a motivational warrior with an open mind is top dog.
When you have motivational goals and want to achieve them, you are like a beacon of hope. So, lots of other opportunities will come your way.
Don’t be so blinkered by your own goals. You might overlook other attractive options when they appear. Keep an open mind at all times.
In Summary
Motivation is very personal. What motivates you will be entirely different for somebody else.
- Sit down and figure out what things motivate you.
- Push your way through on the rubbish days and feel like a motivational warrior.
- Keep an open mind so you can consider other opportunities.
Follow these points to help you stay motivated and effective every day of your life.
