Use The Lycopene from Cherry Tomatoes
Food is one of my favourite subjects. I love food and so do my family and friends. Cherry tomatoes are extremely popular in my family group.
My mum loves to pop them in the oven and have them roasted. In fact; she prefers them that way. Not only are they tasty, but they look so vibrant on a plate. No red for danger here, only pure attraction, making you want to gobble them up!
So how are cherry tomatoes good for you? Well, like all tomatoes they contain lycopene. According to WebMD, Lycopene is a key compound. It can help you with:
- blood clotting
- inflammation
With benefits like these, adding cherry tomatoes to your diet can help to minimise your risk of strokes. Ischemic strokes happen when blood clots appear and prevent blood from going to the brain.
It doesn’t stop there for our friendly red balls, and the lycopene can also support your bone health. This benefit is excellent, especially for women, who can suffer more from osteoporosis.
Cherry tomatoes are also full of loads of vitamins and minerals as well as lycopene, so well worth putting them on your next plate.

Spinach Is Tastier Than You Think
Spinach might not be everybody’s first choice for a healthy snack, but it is a superfood that can make you feel great in 2021. It is a bit like Brussel sprouts or marmite, you either love it or hate it.
I can admit to not being keen on spinach when I was younger. But now I love to put it in healthy salads. I sometimes grab a handful of spinach for a little snack by itself.
Spinach is full of many vitamins and minerals that can help you in different ways.
One amazing fact of spinach is it can help maintain your mental capabilities. A study by the Rush University Medical Centre in the US found spinach and other green leafy vegetables can support your mental health.
According to the leader of the research, Martha Clare Morris, Sc.D., “green leafy vegetables could offer a very simple, affordable and non-invasive way of potentially protecting your brain from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.”

Feel Great in 2021 by Eating Salmon
Salmon is one of my favourite foods. I find it is so versatile to cook. I have it with rice, a salad, a stir-fry, even a sandwich. I eat it with anything.
What’s great about salmon? Well, it is full of magnesium. Magnesium can help us boost our energy, support our body’s immunity and reduce inflammation. Some say it is a minor nutrient, but it helps the different functions in your body and your body’s tissues.
There is substantial data that suggests lows levels of magnesium can leads to migraines and depression. While they continue to study magnesium in the body, having more salmon cannot hurt. It’s worth giving it a go, especially if you are a migraine sufferer.

Enjoy Eggs the Way You Love Them
Eggs are another of my favourites. I love how you can make use them in so many different ways. Also, they are usually quick to prepare. Amongst many things, eggs contain selenium. Selenium helps our bodies perform many basic functions, such as fighting infections and reproduction.
Selenium can help people with Grave’s disease, as it can help give protection to the thyroid. A recommended daily amount of selenium for somebody over 14 years of age is 55mcg. If you love your eggs hard-boiled, one egg will give you 20mcg of selenium.
Studies also show that a low intake of selenium can lead to poorer moods. So try to eat eggs and other selenium-rich food to boost your mood!

Create Red Pepper Nirvana in Your Life
Red peppers are little powerhouses full of goodness. But did you know that red peppers can help arthritis? It sounds incredible, but it is true. Researchers at the University of Manchester found that people who had low amounts of vitamin C intake suffered from more arthritic pain problems.
The good news is, only half a cup of red peppers (125ml) can give you double your daily required amount of vitamin C.
There are many ways you can use red peppers in different dishes. Here are some different dishes that use red peppers, so you can try eating more. Or you can chop some up and eat them raw as a healthy snack.
